How to make only certain products accessible to specific customers in B2B portal?

Follow

Some businesses may want to have only certain products available for selected group of customers - for example setting up in such a way that only Product A available to Customer A. This would be useful if we do not want the customers to be able to purchase items that are not meant for them. To achieve this, we would need to setup a catalogue that would hide all of our products from the B2B store and make only selected products sellable to the specific customers.

Step-by-step process

We need to set the default status of all products to Hidden so that they would not appear for the selected customers and any other customers that are not in the catalogue. To do this, go to Settings | Inventory | Products | Left action cog | Bulk Action - All pages and select Make Hidden.

Next, we would need to create a catalogue that contains the product that we want to be sellable to the customer. Simply head over Settings | Inventory | Catalogues | Create Catalogue and add a new catalogue.

Once created, we could add the products that would be accessible to the customer under Settings | Inventory | Products | Select products | Left action cog - Add to Catalogue and choose the newly created catalogue. Please ensure that the default product status is set to Hidden and assigned product status is set as Sellable.

The last part is to assign the customer to the configured Catalogue so that only the customer can view the added products. Go to Settings | Customers | Customers and assign the sellable catalogue to the customer.

After we have completed all of these steps, the selected customer would only be able to see the products that have been assigned to them:

Note: Other customers would not be able to see any products since the default product status was set to Hidden. You could create another catalogue that contains the products with default status Hidden and assigned status Sellable to make them available.
