Label Printing
FollowThe Label Printing feature enables you to print product labels from the following pages:
- View Products page or the Individual Product page
- Purchase Order, View Purchases and Receipt Purchases page
- Sales Order and View Sales Order pages
- Assembly page
- You can use the default Doc Designer template or create custom Doc Designer templates.
Tutorial
IMPORTANT: Points to Note
- You can ONLY print product labels from the Product, Sales Order, Purchase Order, and Assembly pages.
- You can ONLY print a maximum of 100 product lines and 500 product labels at a time.
- We have tested this feature with ONLY the Zebra G Series desktop printers. For more information, see Zebra G series desktop-printer-specifications.html.
- Ensure that you correctly install and configure the printer settings as mentioned in their documentation.
- We have documented some troubleshooting tips based on our testing which might help you troubleshoot some of the printer issues. However, for any hardware specific support you must contact the Support team for the printer you are using.

Duplicating the Default Label Template
- Go to Settings | Doc Designer | Labels. The Default Label template is displayed
- Click Duplicate to create a copy of the default label template. Note: You can also click New to create a blank template.
- Specify a name for the template and click Create. The following sections describe the available options.
Document Tab
- Select the Default checkbox if you want to make it the default template.
- Click New if you want to create a new blank template.
- Click Rename to save the template with a new name.
- Click Export to export the template file in JSON format. The templates can be imported/exported easily between linked Unleashed accounts. For more information, see Importing/Exporting Document Templates.
Template Tab
You can select the Font, Font Size, Label Size, Orientation, Dimensions, and Margins for your labels using the options on the Template tab.
- The options displayed in the image are the recommended settings we have tested for printing labels using the Zebra G Series printers.
- You can edit and change the settings as required. Click Preview to ensure you have the correct settings on the template before you Save and Publish the template.
- Label Size: You can choose the following options:
- Custom
- A4
- Letter
- Orientation: This field is disabled for Custom label size. If you choose the label size as A4 or Letter, you can choose the Orientation to be either Portrait or Landscape.
- Dimension and Margin: The measurement units for these fields is set based on the value in Settings | Company | Measurement Units field (Imperial: inch, Metric: cm)

Toolbox Tab
You can use the different components available on the Toolbox tab to create or edit your templates as required. The following components are available:
Basic Components

Product Data
Component | Details |

Attribute |
You can display up to 3 product attributes. For more information about product attributes, see Attribute Sets. For more information about configuring the required product attribute settings on your label template, see Import Product Attributes Field. |
Barcode |
Displays the numeric barcode saved on the product. |
Barcode Image |
Displays the Barcode image for the barcode saved on the product. You can choose from the following formats:

Batch Expiry Date | The Expiry Date recorded against the Batch Number. |
Bin Location | The Bin Location from the Product's Inventory tab. |
Cubic Total | The Cubic Total from the Product's Details tab. |
Default Sell Price | The Default Sell Price from the Product's Sale tab. |
Label Image | Displays the default label image you have selected in the Inventory | <Product> | Attachments tab. For more information about product label settings, see Printing Product Labels. |
Pack Size | Displays the pack size saved on the Product's Details tab (under Dimensions). |
Product Code | Displays the product code. |
Product Description | Displays the product description. |
Product Group | Displays the product group. |
Product Notes | Displays any product notes. |
Sell Price Tier | Displays the selected Sell Price Tier for the Product. |
Serial / Batch Number | Displays the appropriate Serial Number or Batch Number. |
Unit Of Measure | Displays the unit of measure the Product is sold by. |
Weight | The weight of the unit sold. |
Sales Data
Completed Date | The completed date of the Sales Order. |
Order Date | The order date on the Sales Order. |
Order Number | The Sales Order number. |
Order Quantity | The Sales Order line quantity. |
Other Data
Batch Quantity | The quantity assigned to a batch number. |
Reference | The Customer Reference from the Sales Order or the Supplier Reference from the Purchase Order. |
Editing a Label Template
- Go to Settings | Doc Designer | Labels. Select the template you want to edit from the Template Name drop-down list.
- Click Toolbox if you want to make any changes to the settings. For more information about Toolbox settings, see Toolbox Tab.
- If you want to change the settings for a specific component, click on the component to display the Component tab. Let's look at an example to include the product attributes on your label template.
- Click Attribute 1. The Component tab is displayed.
- Edit the Text field to display the attribute name. You can use the settings in the STYLE area based on the requirements.
- Click Save Now.
- Click Attribute. The Component tab will display the settings.
- Attribute Name: Type the first letter of the attributes you have created and the list is displayed. Select the required attribute.
- Click Preview to verify how it looks

Click Save Now and then click Publish to save the changes and publish your template.
Printing Product Labels

- Go to Inventory | Products | View Products and open the product record.
- On the Attachments tab, click or drop to upload the image and select the default label image
- On the Details tab, you can set the default label templates and default label quantities from the drop-down lists:.
Default Label Template: You can leave these as the Unleashed Default template or select your custom templates for your Product labels, Sales Order labels and Purchase Order labels.
Default Label Quantity: Choose your default label quantities:
The Product Label quantity defaults to a single label but can be changed when using the Product "Print Label" function.
The Sales Order and Purchase Order templates have the following options:- Order quantity (default) - this will print a label based on the quantity ordered
- Per Batch - print a label for each batch selected
- Per Pack - base the number of labels on the pack size of the product
- Single
- Click Product | Print Label.
- The Product Label Print Confirmation dialog box will be displayed with the default template selected. You can select a different template if required.
- Select the quantity. You can ONLY print 500 labels at one time.
- Click Print.
- Select the settings in the Printer dialog box (this will be specific to the label printer you are using) and print the required number of labels.
Once you have selected the default label template and default label image for the products, you can also print the labels from the View Products page.
- Go to Inventory | Products | View Products.
- From the action cog, select Print Product Label.
- The Product Label Print Confirmation dialog box will be displayed with the default template selected. You can select a different template if required.
- Select the quantity. You can ONLY print 500 labels at one time.
- Click Print.
- Select the settings in the Printer dialog box (this will be specific to the label printer you are using) and print the required number of labels.
Printing Product Labels for Purchase Orders
- Go to Purchases | Purchase Orders | View Purchases.
- From the action cog, select Print Product Labels.
- Follow Step 3 to Step 6 under Printing Product Labels.
- To print the label from a specific Purchase Order page, click on an Order No. to open the order.
- Click Print Labels.
- In the Label Printing dialog box, select the required details.
- Click Print.
Printing Product Labels for Assemblies
- Go to Production | Assemblies | View Assemblies.
- Open an assembly.
- Click on the Print drop-down and then click Product Labels.
- Follow Step 3 to Step 6 under Printing Product Labels.
Printing Product Labels From Sales Orders
You can print Product Labels from individual Sales Orders or from the View Sales Screen.
1. Go to Sales | Orders | View Sales Orders.
2. Open a Sales Order
3. Scroll to the end of the Sales Order and Select Print Labels. A maximum of 100 product lines can be selected.
Alternatively you can print these from the View Sales Screen using the Action Cog or Bulk Action Cog.
1. Go to Sales | Orders | View Sales Order.
2. Using the right hand Action Cog for the Sales Order you want to print - select Print Product Labels
3. Using the left hand Action Cog for the Sales Orders you want to print - select Print Documents I Labels
Printing Product Labels From Customers Orders
1. Go to Customers | View Customers | Select a Customer | Orders.
2. Using the right hand Action Cog - select Print Product Labels.
Bulk Downloading Product Labels from Sales Orders
After printing labels and once the label files are generated, you can choose to download your PDF files in different ways, depending on your operation:
- Download as single PDF (all labels for all products in your order downloaded in a single file - useful for large orders, or when selecting several orders from the View Pages)
- Download all (downloads all the individual product labels into a zipped file)
- Download individually named product (or order) PDF files
Troubleshooting Tips

If the printer is not correctly set up with the roller, go to Zebra Setup Utilities | Open Printer Tools | Action | Calibrate Media | Send.The printer will be calibrated with the correct settings.

Whenever you change the paper roll, you must reset the following Zebra G series printer settings: Zebra Setup Utilities | Open Printer Tools | Print configuration label | Send.
