Attribute Sets

An Attribute Set is a group of custom fields (attributes) that you can allocate to a product record. The Attribute Set's goal is to add further reference details to your product records and those Attributes can then be populated in your Doc Designer templates.

For example:

  • Attribute Set: Television
Attributes: Country Of OriginModel, Tariff Code.
  • Attribute Set: Bags
    Attributes: Brand, Price.

Points to Note

  • The maximum number of Attribute Sets you can utilise within in Unleashed is 10.
  • By default, you can create 5 Attributes per Attribute Set. Submit a request to increase the number of attributes available in your Attribute Sets.
  • You can only use one Attribute Set per product record.
  • You can only allocate up to 3 attributes within a Doc Designer template, within the Grid component.
  • Associate a default attribute set to a product group: For more information, see Product Groups.

Using Attribute Sets

Apply Attributes to a product record

  1. Go to Inventory | Products | View Products and find the product record you'd like to update. Alternatively, use the Search field in the top right of your Unleashed page to search and find your product record.
  2. In the Details tab, scroll to the Attributes section
  3. In the Attribute Set drop-down menu, select the Attribute Set you'd like to apply to the product.
  4. If the Attribute has Default Values set, they will automatically populate in the Attribute fields. If no Default Value is given, the Attribute field will be blank and editable.
  5. Click Save on the product record to update the record with the new Attribute Set.

Apply Attributes to products in bulk

You can update the Attribute Sets and Attributes in your product record in bulk using the Import/Export function. You can only update your product records one Attribute Set at a time.

For more details, see Import Product Attributes Field Definitions.

Apply Attributes to Doc Designer templates

  1. Go to Settings | Doc Designer, select the transaction type you want to add Attribute Sets to and then select the template you'd like to update.
  2. Select the LinesGrid component in the template's layout, then select the Component tab.
  3. Under Column Control, in the Headers field find Atttribute1 and tick the Visible checkbox.

  4. In the Attribute Name field, start typing the name of an Attribute that's within an Attribute Set. The Attribute will populate as a drop-down option to select.
  5. Update the Header Name field to re-label the Attribute's Header in the LinesGrid's column. Best practice is to update the Header Name to match the Attribute Name
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 to include two further Attributes (Atttribute2, Atttribute3) to your template.
  7. When printed or emailed, the template will populate the Attribute value given in the product's if the required Attribute Name's been used.
