Export Bill Of Materials

The Import/Export Production page allows you to export, manage and create Bills of Materials and Assemblies in bulk, using CSV templates. 

From Unleashed's main menu go to Production and select Import/Export. In this page you'll see two tabs: Assemblies and Bill of Materials (BOMs). Within each tab, you'll find a download button specific to the tab's data set, e.g. "Download Assemblies Template File". This button will download a blank import template which you would use to upload new Assemblies and BOMs to Unleashed.

You will also see an Export dropdown button, which will allow you to download a pre-populated template of all current Assemblies or BOMs.

Tip: If a template is not uploaded through the matching tab the import will fail.

Points to note

• Products cannot be created using the Import Assemblies or Import Bill of Materials templates.
• Products must be saved as Assembled or Component products, as appropriate, prior to being included on either the Import Assemblies or Import Bill of Materials templates, see Create Products: Details tab.
• Assemblies will only import as either Parked or a custom Assembly status, they cannot be imported as Complete.

Import Assemblies

To create new or update existing Parked Assemblies in Unleashed, in bulk, use the the Import Assemblies template.

Import new Assemblies in bulk

To import new Assemblies using Import Assemblies:

1. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Production, Import/Export and select the Assemblies tab.
2. Click Download Assemblies template file and an empty Import Assemblies template will be downloaded.
3. Fill in the Import Assemblies template, detailing the products due to be assembled and the quantities being assembled, see Import Assemblies field definitions.
4. Save the template in a CSV format.
5. Go back to the Assemblies tab in Production's Import/Export page and upload the Import Assemblies template.

If the assembling product has a BOM, the Assembly created upon import will populate the component quantities required to fulfil it's assemble quantity, based on the existing BOM's component quantities.

If no BOM exists for an assembling product the Assembly created upon import will be blank with no component lines.

Update existing Assemblies in bulk

To update existing Assemblies with a new Assemble quantity use the Import Assemblies function:

1. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Production and select Import/Export.
2. Click the Export dropdown and select Assemblies.
3. Update the pre-populated Import Assemblies template with the required changes, see Import Assemblies field definitions.
   NOTE: Completed Assemblies must be removed from the exported template file to ensure a successful import. 
4. Save the template in a CSV format.
5. Return to the Import/Export Production page, select the Assemblies tab and upload the updated Import Assemblies template.

If using an blank Import Assemblies template to update existing Assemblies, ensure the *AssemblyNumber and *Product Code fields in the CSV template exactly match the Assembly Number and assembling Product Code in Unleashed to ensure a successful import and update. 

Only the component quantities will be updated when an Assembly is updated using the Import Assemblies template. You can only add new or remove component lines on an open Assembly in Unleashed directly.

Export Assemblies

All open (either Parked or custom Assembly status) and completed Assemblies in Unleashed can be exported into a CSV format. The export will show each assembly and the assembling product, but it does not include the components of each Assembly. 

To export all Assemblies in a CSV format:

1. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Production and select Import/Export.
2. In the top right corner, click on the Export dropdown menu and select Assemblies.
3. A CSV file populated with all open (Parked and custom Assembly statuses) and Complete Assemblies will be downloaded.

Import Bill Of Materials

To create new or update existing Bill of Materials (BOM), in bulk, use the the Import Bill of Materials template.

Import new BOMs in bulk

To import new BOMs using Import Bill of Materials:

1. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Production, Import/Export and select the Bill of Materials tab.
2. Click Download the Bill of Materials template file and an empty Import Bill of Materials template will be downloaded.
3. Fill in the Import Bill of Materials template, detailing the product to be assembled and the component quantities required to assemble one unit of the assembled product, see Import Bill Of Materials field definitions. 
4. Save the template in a CSV format.
5. Go back to the Bill of Materials tab in Production's Import/Export page and upload the Import Bill of Materials template.

Update existing BOMs in bulk

To update existing BOMs with updated component lines, use a pre-populated Import Bill of Materials template:

1. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Production and select Import/Export.
2. Click the Export dropdown and select Bill of Materials.
3. Update the pre-populated Import Bill of Materials template with the required changes, see Import Bill Of Materials field definitions. 
4. Save the template in a CSV format.
5. Return to the Import/Export Production page, select the Bill of Materials tab and upload the updated Import Bill of Materials template.

Export Bill Of Materials

A list of all BOMs that exist in Unleashed can be exported to a CSV format. The export will show every BOM that currently exists per assembled product, in either an obsolete or non-obsolete state, and will also display the components products and quantities currently set to each BOM. 

To export all BOMs in a CSV format:

1. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Production and select Import/Export.
2. In the top right corner, click on the Export dropdown menu and select Bill of Materials.
3. A CSV file populated with all BOMs will be downloaded.
