Import Stock Revaluation

Follow

Use the Import Stock Revaluation to update the current Average Landed Costs (ALC) of your products and manage the unit and total value of each product's existing Stock on Hand (SOH).

Read the following articles to understand Unleashed's import processes and avoid common errors:

Points to Note

  • The Import Stock Revaluation only applies to products that have a current Stock on Hand (SOH) quantity.
  • Changes to a product's Average Landed Cost (ALC) will only apply to transaction's completed after it's been updated.
  • The Import Stock Revaluation cannot be back-dated.
  • Changes made to a product's ALC by the Import Stock Revaluation will be logged as a value-only Stock Adjustment
  • The Import Stock Revaluation can only be completed using a CSV format.
  • The Import Stock Revaluation updates the ALC of the product across all warehouses and is not warehouse specific.

Import Stock Revaluation

The Import Stock Revaluation page allows you to export the current Average Landed Costs (ALC) for all products that currently have stock on hand into a CSV template, which can then be used to bulk update their ALC, if required. Upon import, any changes made to a product's ALC will create and complete a value only Stock Adjustment that will update the product's Stock Value, based on it's current on hand quantity.

Accounting integrations

If integrated with an accounting provider such as Xero, Quickbooks or Access Financials, any adjustment made to a product's total stock value or ALC will export a stock journal to your accounting provider as follows:

  • When the product's ALC increases: A stock journal exports, crediting the Stock on Hand account.
  • When the product's ALC decreases: A stock journal exports, debiting the Stock on Hand account and crediting the default Cost of Goods Sold account.

Using the Import Stock Revaluation

Follow the below steps to process a Stock Revaluation:

  1. From Unleashed's the main menu, head to the Inventory, Transactions and select Import Stock Revaluation

  2. Select the Download Stock Revaluation Template File button to download a pre-populated CSV template with all products that currently have SOH across all Warehouses, along with their current ALC, see Import Stock Revaluation field definitions.

  3. Use the NewAverageLandCost column to provide a new ALC for the appropriate products.

Tip: Remove any product rows that don't require an updated ALC, this will ensure no changes are inaccurately made for the product. If the NewAverageLandCost field is left blank the product's ALC will remain unchanged.

  4. Upload the Stock Revaluation template via the Import Stock Revaluation page.

  5. Once uploaded, a value only Stock Adjustment will be created and completed per updated product to register the change in ALC. Each Stock Adjustment will display Reason: Stock Revaluation.

To review an individual product's current ALC and how it's changed over time, open the product's record and go to the Costs tab. At the top of the page, the current ALC will be displayed in an un-editable field, next to the product's Last Cost. Below, in the Costs grid, any transaction that has triggered a recalculation for the product's ALC will be displayed.
