Product Brands can be used to assist with categorizing your products to provide finer reporting. Product Brands work independently of Product Groups and Product Sub Groups, so a product does not need to be associated to a group in order to have a Brand.

Add a Product Brand

Product Brands can be created either in Unleashed's Product Brands page or via the Import Products template.
NOTE: Product Brand Names must be unique.

To create a Product Brand in Unleashed:

1. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Settings, System and select Product Brands. 
2. Enter a name for the Product Brand in the *Product Brand Name field.
   NOTE: Do not use commas in the Product Group's name. 
3. Click Add.
   
   

To create Product Brands and allocate them to products in bulk:

1. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Inventory, Products and select Import/Export. 
2. Click on the Export dropdown menu and select Products. 
3. In the pre-populated Import Products CSV template, enter the new Product Brand's name in the "Product Brand" column for each product's row, see Import Products template.
4. Return to the Product Import/Export page and upload the updated Import Products template.
5. Upon import:
   • If the Product Brand name matches an existing Product Brand in Unleashed it will be allocated to the appropriate product records.
   • If the Product Brand's name does not match an existing Product Brand, a new parent Product Brand will be created and allocated to the appropriate products.

Edit or delete a Product Brand

Once a Product Brand has been added, its name can be edited at any time. Any changes made to the name will apply immediately to any product record the brand has been allocated to and will update for all historic transactions for reporting. 

To edit a Product Brand: 

1. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Settings, System and select Product Brands. 
2. Click on the existing Brand Name and the field will become editable. Make the appropriate changes to the brand name and click away from the field to save the changes. 

To delete a Product Brand:

1. Ensure the brand being deleted is not currently allocated to any products, including obsolete products.
   Tip: Use the View Products page, filtered for Obsolete: All and the Product Brand, to locate and update any products currently saved with the group. 
2. From Unleashed's main menu, go to Settings, System and select Product Brands. 
3. Click on the bin icon on the right hand side of the Product Brand to delete it.

Use Product Brands

When a Product Brand is saved against a product's record the Product Brand detail will be applied to any subsequent transactions made for the product. This then allows you to report on your stock movements and transactions by Product Brand.

To update or allocate a Product Brand to a product:

1. Open the product's record.
2. In the Details tab, use the Product Brand dropdown menu to select one Product Brand.
3. Click Save. 

Alternatively, you can update the Product Brand details on multiple products at once using the Import Products template. For more details, see Import Products template.

Reports with Product Brands

Use the reports, enquiry and view pages in Unleashed to review your product's performance and transactions by Product Brand. 

Reports that can be filtered by Product Brand

From Unleashed's main menu, head to Reports and any of the following reports can be filtered by Product Brand:

• Margin Enquiry, under Sales.
• Sales Enquiry, under Sales.
• Stock on Hand Enquiry, under Inventory.
• Reorder Report, under Purchases.

Views with Product Brands

The following pages can be filtered by a Product Brand:

• View Products, under Inventory, Products.
• View Sales Orders, under Sales, Sales Orders.
