Xero Journals and affected accounts in Xero

 Summary: 

List of which accounts are affected in Xero depending on the transaction type in Unleashed

Steps:

Purchases - Triggered when a purchase order is receipted. If you have costs from a different supplier added to the transaction when still in a Receipted status, then a new draft payable is sent over to Xero when the Purchase order is marked as Completed.

- Stock movement journals --> Stock on hand account

- Purchase costs --> Stock on hand account

- Purchase order re-cost --> Stock on hand account

- Supplier return journals --> Stock on hand account

Sales - Triggered when a Shipment is dispatched, an Invoice is completed, a Credit note is completed or the Sales order is completed as a whole.
- Stock movement journals --> Cost of goods sold account (increases) and Stock on hand account (decreases)
- Sales "invoices" --> Sales account (increases)
- Credit note --> Sales account (decreases)
- Credit journals --> Cost of goods sold account (decreases) and Stock on hand account (increases)
 
Stock adjustments/assemblies - Triggered by completing a Stock Count, a Stock Adjustment or an Assembly.
- Assembly costs --> Stock on hand account (increases)
- Assembly/disassembly journal -->Cost of goods sold account to Stock on hand account
- Stock adjustment journals --> Stock on hand account and Cost of goods sold (depending on your settings).

Please note - for Assemblies/ Stock adjustments / Stock Counts / Stock Revaluation, journals are sent over to Xero for these transactions only if costs have been adjusted. E.g. in an Assembly, a journal will be created if there are any extra costs associated to the assembly such as supplier costs or costs added as never diminishing products (e.g. labour, shipping fees, etc.).
