B2B Store: Guest Access
FollowEnable Guest Access for your B2B Store to allow uninvited, potential customers to browse your B2B Store.
B2B Guest Access
To access your B2B Store's Guest Access page:
- Go to your B2B Store and login as a Store Administrator.
- Select Settings, in the top right corner of the B2B Store.
- Select Customers in the main menu, then select Guest Access.
Once any edits or updates have been made to the settings in your B2B Store's "Guest Access" page, select Save Changes in the top right corner to immediately apply them to your B2B Store.
Allow guests to browse the store
To allow uninvited customers (guests) the opportunity to browse your B2B Store, enable (toggle on) the "Allow guests to browse the store" option. If this setting is enabled, anyone can view all products listed in your B2B Store. If the setting is not enabled, only invited, registered customers will be able to access your B2B Store to browse it's listed products.
Display B2B store page
Use the "Display B2B store page" setting to determine whether uninvited customers need to navigate through a login page prior to browsing your B2B Store. If the setting is enabled, guests of your B2B Store will have instant access to your products and homepages. If the setting is disabled, guests of your B2B Store will initially be directed to a "login page", in which they will have the option to select the following options:
- Continue as a Guest: Allows the guest to review the B2B Store's products in a guest view.
- Request Access: Allows the guest to submit a request to become an invited customer.
Show product pricing to guests
Use the "Show product pricing to guests" setting to determine whether your B2B Store guests are shown the unit prices for your store's products. If disabled, product prices will not be shown to guests of your B2B Store. If the "Show product pricing to guests" setting is enabled, use the selectable options to choose whether the product's "Default pricing" is shown, or if a "Select guest customer's" pricing will be displayed to guests of your B2B Store.
Default Pricing
Select Guest Customer
As there is no default customer record for guests of your B2B Store to sync with from your Unleashed account, there is not initially an option to introduce B2B Store specific pricing for guests. However, you can either create a generic customer in your Unleashed account or using an existing customer record, in which you can implement specific pricing via Sell Price Tiers and Customer Pricing, and allocate this as the default customer guests of your B2B Store will be attributed to.
To select a guest customer for your B2B Store:
- In Unleashed, create a new Customer (see Add Customer) or identify an existing customer record, making a note of the Customer Code or Customer Name.
- Go to your B2B Store and login as a Store Administrator.
- Select Settings, in the top right corner of the B2B Store then go to Customers, Guest Access.
- Enable "Show product pricing to guests".
- Select the "Select guest customer" option.
- In the text field below "Select guest customer" search for your chosen customer record using the Customer Code or Customer Name, selecting the appropriate record from the auto-fill options provided.
- Once a customer has been selected, their base currency and default sale tax rate will be displayed, populate from Unleashed's customer record.
Guest orders
If your B2B Store has the setting "Enable payments for guests" disabled (found in Orders, Payment Settings), guests will not be able to add products to a cart or place an order via the B2B Store.
However, if the setting "Enable payments for guests" is enabled, guests of your B2B Store will have the opportunity to add products to a cart, then place and pay for a B2B Store Order without being a registered/invited customer. Orders placed via the B2B Store by guests will be created in Unleashed using the customer record allocated in the "select guest customer" setting. As such, if you do not want to mix the sales or pricing of an existing customer with your B2B Store's guests, we recommend creating a customer specifically for B2B Store guests.
For more details on managing payments for your B2b Store, see B2B Store: Payment Settings.
NOTE: We currently do not give store owners the ability to charge guest customers for freight/shipping. For this reason, it is advisable for the Store Administrator to set up a Sell Price Tier against the generic customer created so that they can incorporate shipping charges for guest customers within the product price itself.
