What can we expect in 2012?

Hello again,
First of all we hope you have all enjoyed the festive season and are joining us in 2012 raring to go. This is just a quick update of what you can expect from us here at Unleashed in the coming year development-wise:
Brand Spanking New Interface
The new UI we have been working on for 6 months has recently been announced and will be revealed at Xero-con in Auckland on February 3rd. The official launch to all of you will be around March / April so start getting excited as this will be massive!
Document Designer
The document designer will allow you to build your own Invoice, Credits, Packing-Slip and Purchase Order Document layouts. Through an intuitive 'drag and drop' HTML form designer you will have the ability to tweak everything till you have your very own design. We have put many months of development resources into the designer engine and have come up with something that is very easy to use so there is no excuse not to give it a go once released.
Back-Ordering
Needless to say a lot of you want this feature - and we can see why - so it is planned for release later this year. If you have any ideas or requests in regards to this please feel free to let us know!
Serial & Batch Tracking
This is another massive feature that a lot of people will be following. Because it is so much work it will likely be split into a minor and major release but regardless this will be a huge addition to the Unleashed suite.
Plus a huge amount of smaller features and enhancements
These include but are definitely not limited to;
- Product attributes for our Magento user (size, colours, style, etc.)
- More reports and reporting styles
- A new history area (much like Xero)
- Upgrades to the API
- Overhaul of support resources
- Customer Special Pricing Module
- Purchasing Price Books

Any news on release of the new Doc Designer?
Hi Chris,
There is no date set in stone for the back-ordering function however the first release of the new interface is on May 21st and the second release on the 1st of August. The second release will include the document designer. After that back-ordering is next on the list so towards the end of the year is when it will be released.

I have been told Back ordering is different to negative stock but have you got any idea of when this feature will be available. Basically we can't move over to Unleashed and Xero until this is implemented as this is a key requirement for our business. Is there a schedule of when this is to occur?
Looking forward to this and really hoping for a better search function. We would love to be able to search Invoices by "Reference" and have an advanced search accessible from anywhere.

The interface is getting a whole lot more done to it and is due out around mid-late April.

The new interface is in it's final phase of testing so shouldn't be long! It was revealed at Xerocon held recently if you managed to catch it.
